State of Hawai‘i Utility Bill Assistance Program (HUBAP) Application Status

To check your application status, please enter your information below. Make sure it’s the same information you used when applying for the State of Hawai‘i Utility Bill Assistance Program (HUBAP). For example, if Jane used her information to apply on behalf of a family with many people in the household, make sure to use Jane’s Utility Account Number (electric, gas, sewer, or water), last name, and last four digits of her social security number below.

Applications take about 24 hours to be available for search, and our database is updated every weekday morning at 7 am.

When your application is in process you will be contacted by Aloha United Way staff, or our partner agencies who are also processing applications.

Please do not call 2-1-1 to inquire about the status of your application, as our 2-1-1 operators do not have access to submitted applications.

Application Status Definitions

  • Accepted
    Application received

  • Under Review
    Application is being reviewed.

  • Approved
    Application has been approved for payment.  You will receive an email notification on amount and utility type.

  • Declined
    Application has been declined

  • Paid
    Payment has been sent to the utility company.  You will receive and email notification the date payment is submitted.
