Aloha United Way is proud to announce this year’s HLTA AUW Fall Campaign Chairs, Teri Orton and Kelly Hoen.
Teri is the General Manager, Hawai‘i Convention Center where she is responsible for the overall management of the Hawai‘i Convention Center, including sales and marketing, operations, finance, food and beverage, and customer service, while implementing the strategic positioning and marketing plans for the facility in conjunction with the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau, and the Meet Hawai‘i team. Prior to joining AEG Facilities and the Hawai‘i Convention Center in 2014, Orton was vice president of condominium resort marketing for Outrigger Enterprises Group, which consists of 16 properties across the Hawaiian Islands. She has nearly 20 years of hospitality experience, including posts as hotel general manager, director of sales and marketing and other management roles with Embassy Suites, The Ilikai, W Diamond Head, Sheraton Princess Kai‘ulani, and the Huntington Beach Hilton Resort.
Kelly is the General Manager, THE MODERN HONOLULU and has over 22 years of experience in leading hotels in Hawaii. In her current role as General Manager of The MODERN HONOLULU, she is leading the team to build a new stylish lifestyle brand that defies convention. She leads all aspects, to include Sales and Marketing, Operations, Team Member engagement, and community relations. Prior to her current role, she was General Manager at The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort where she led its team through an $80 million renovation and rebranding of the hotel. Her leadership transformed the iconic hotel into a world‐class resort generating over $70 million per year. Kelly’s expertise includes luxury hotel management, market planning, sales strategy, leadership training, management development, and coaching. Kelly is a member of the La Pietra Board of Trustees, a member of the Aloha United Way Board of Directors, a member of the Easter Seals Hawaii Board of Directors and is the chairperson of the HLTA Board of Directors.
