Neiman Marcus Hawaii Helps Fashion a Better Future with Aloha United Way Women United

Jul. 12, 2022

Neiman Marcus has consistently supported the arts in Hawaii for many years, but the decision to support Aloha United Way Women United was new for the company. Not only did the Neiman Marcus store at Ala Moana Center host multiple events in honor of Women United, but they produced a one-of-a-kind fashion show for hundreds of Chocolate, Champagne, and Couture-for-a-Cause attendees on April 30, 2022. The shift to support women and families in the community was one that the company embraced completely.

“Fashion has the power to inspire, influence, and connect people. By partnering with Aloha United Way Women United, we had an opportunity to be a catalyst for good,” said Erin Isa, Director and General Manager of Neiman Marcus Hawaii. Aloha United Way Women United serves women and families in the local community and Neiman Marcus supports women as local pillars of strength. “Women are the foundation of our community. When women are uplifted, so is our community,” said Isa.

“By supporting Women United and this event, Neiman Marcus made critical investment in women and family-focused nonprofits possible. We never would have been able to hold this event or raise the funds needed without their help,” said Michelle Stofle, Women United Chocolate, Champagne, and Couture-for-a-Cause Event Co-Chair and Board Member. Neiman Marcus is synonymous with fashion, but the innovative company has deep roots when it comes to female empowerment. “Carrie Marcus Neiman co-founded the company with her brother in 1907 and we’re proud to support the advancement of women today,” said Isa.

More than 300 guests attended the Chocolate, Champagne, and Couture for-a-Cause fundraiser at Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina, and many of these same attendees returned to Neiman Marcus to support the cause. “We wanted to donate 10% of all sales between May 5 and 7 in honor of Women United,” said Isa. The company presented a check to Women United for $10,000 on July 1st and the funds will be awarded to a Women United designation later this year.

“Neiman Marcus supported us completely. Their expertise, trust, and partnership have made change possible. We’re extremely grateful for their vision, guidance, and support,” said Stofle on behalf of Women United.

Women United will begin accepting applications from local nonprofits later this year and award funding after review. All proceeds from the event will be included in the final award. Sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters are welcome to participate in Women United which aims to improve the lives of women and families on Oahu.
