At Aloha United Way, we focus on doing the work that empowers others to have the greatest possible impact in our community. Thanks to generous supporters, AUW has been able to support hundreds of thousands of individuals and families across the entire state of Hawaiʻi, as well as over 250 Nonprofit Partner Agencies on the island of Oʻahu.

AUW 2-1-1 Helpline
The AUW 2-1-1 Resource Helpline connects Hawaiʻi residents to vital services such as food, housing, and mental health care.

Maui Fire Relief Fund
Aloha United Way has raised over $4.2 million for the Maui Fire Relief Fund, with 100% of proceeds supporting Maui United Way’s relief efforts.

AUW ALICE Initiative
ALICE represents the large number of households who are working yet cannot afford basic necessities to remain stable and self-sufficient.
Aloha United Way 2-1-1
The AUW 2-1-1 Resource Helpline, which answered over 52,000 calls in 2023, connects Hawaiʻi residents to vital support services such as food, housing, and mental health care.


Maui Fire Disaster Relief
- Maui United Way has allocated over $11.3 million to fire-impacted individuals and organizations across Maui County since the fires.
- MUW has distributed $7.8 million in $1,000 Emergency Financial Assistance to nearly 8,000 survivors shortly after the fires.
- MUW awarded 42 grants totaling $417,000 in grants to nonprofits serving fire survivors
- Locally grown food provided by Maui’s farmers delivered to food hubs;
- Transportation to medical appointments for those who have had their vehicles destroyed;
- Mortgage and insurance assistance;
- Help replacing personal identification lost in the fires;
- Crisis and grief counseling;
- Childcare services;
- Health care, including from Native Hawaiian practitioners; and
- Translation services

Aloha United Way ALICE Initiative
Many individuals and families who have a job – even two or three – are doing everything they can to make ends meet but at still living paycheck to paycheck.
ALICE represents the large number of households who are working yet cannot afford basic necessities to remain stable and self-sufficient. ALICE Households are above the Federal Poverty Line, but they do not qualify for many government assistance programs.
