Safety Net Impact Funding Opportunity: 2027–2028 Grant Cycle | Opening Soon!
Aloha United Way believes every person in Hawaiʻi deserves stability, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive. Through our Safety Net Impact Funding, we invest in organizations on the front lines who are meeting basic human needs and standing beside individuals and families facing their hardest moments.
For the 2027–2028 grant cycle, AUW is directing resources toward programs in five critical impact areas:
- Youth Opportunity
- Mental & Behavioral Health
- Basic Needs
- Housing Stability
- ʻOhana & Family Support

The application will be available at auw.org/about/safety-net-fund beginning July 1, 2026, and will be hosted on Salesforce. We encourage all eligible partner agencies to confirm that the appropriate staff member at your organization has an active Salesforce account prior to the application opening. Funding Details
Eligible organizations may request between $20,000 and $75,000 per year for up to two years. The maximum total award is $150,000 over the full grant period. Year two funding is contingent on satisfactory progress toward agreed-upon performance measures, completion of required reporting, and continued availability of funds.
Application Tracks
This cycle, AUW is investing in both the programs that have proven their impact, and the bold new interventions that have the potential to transform how our community meets its most pressing needs.
Track A — Established Program For programs with at least one year of operation, documented outcomes, and an established service delivery model. Track A applicants are seeking funding to sustain, strengthen, or expand existing services.
Track B — Innovative Program or Pilot For new programs or significant redesigns testing a promising approach, addressing an emerging need, or reaching an underserved population in a new way.
Eligibility
To be eligible, organizations must:
- Be an Aloha United Way Partner Agency in good standing
- Directly serve residents on Oʻahu
- Provide Safety Net programs or services as a core organizational function
