AUW AmeriCorps VISTAs Presented Their Year of Service

Aug. 1, 2017

AUW AmeriCorps VISTAs presented their projects during their year of service. The VISTAs work to build capacity in local nonprofits through program evaluation and data collection with the ultimate goal of alleviating poverty.

Eric Englin with Partners in Care, was instrumental in Oahu’s 2017 Point In Time Count. He also was involved in data analysis for Mayor's Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness and Coordinated Entry System.

Tessa Baizer with Hawaii Appleseed, concentrated on researching affordable housing and homelessness in Hawaii. She wrote several papers documenting her research and aided in designing social media and websites as a part of Hawaii Appleseed’s communication.

Gabe Torno, Kids Hurt Too, created a database to analyze program data and valuable donor engagement information.

The work they have done plays a vital role with helping Hawaii and these nonprofits continue to grow.
