Student Aloha Fundraising Competition

sa_fundraisingphoto.jpgThe fundraising component of the Student Aloha Program is an easy, fun way for a school and its students to give back to our community. A school’s participation in the fundraising aspect of the program automatically enters them into the Student Aloha Fundraising Contest. This contest fosters healthy competition between Oahu schools as they strive to raise the most funds. All monies raised go to Aloha United Way to help provide services and support for the neediest in our community.

When is the contest?

The contest runs from August 29, 2011 through February 29, 2012.

  1. Contact Karen Quimoyog of Aloha United Way at (808) 543-2241 or karen@auw.org.
  2. Download the Fundraising Checklist. This checklist will keep you on track through the fundraising process.

How do we win?

Turn in your school’s fundraising money to Aloha United Way by February 29, 2012*. Winners of each category are determined on a per capita basis. One private school and one public school will be announced as the overall winner of the Student Aloha fundraising competition. The overall winner will be determined based on the school that has the highest per capita donation.

What do we win?

Certificates will be awarded to the winning private and public schools in each category. The overall private and public school winners will receive a certifi cate, a perpetual trophy for the next school year commemorating their success and a 30 minute celebration event.

*Please note that donations for the Student Aloha fundraising competition will be gladly accepted after the February 29, 2012 deadline, but those schools will no longer be eligible to win. Due to prize restrictions, only schools located on Oahu are eligible to participate in the competition.
