Description

St. Francis Hospice is the oldest and largest hospital-based hospice program in the State of Hawaii. It was created in 1978 to ease the physical discomfort of terminally ill patients and allow them to face "death with dignity". Hospice patients must have an attending physician who believes the patient has a life and expectancy of six months or less and must have completed curative treatment. Bereavement support and respite care are provided to family members.
