Description

Founded in 1971, Hawaii Literacy offers comprehensive family and adult literacy programs focused on those with the lowest literacy skills. We help distadvantaged children prepare for and succeed in school, increase access to books and educational programs, give adults a second chance to learn to read and write, teach English, and train hundreds of literacy volunteers to teach in our communities, bringing greater educational and employment opportunities to families and helping to break cycles of poverty and under-education.
