Description

Founded in 1912 by its visionary leader, Juliette Gordon Low, in Savannah, Georgia, Girl Scouts has a rich and long history in Hawai`i. With the earliest efforts in Hawaii sponsored by Queen Lili`uokalani and Kamehameha School for Girls teacher Florence Lowe in 1917, Girl Scouts has enabled tens of thousands of Hawai`i’s girls to discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together for more than 90 years. As the country’s preeminent all-girl organization and Hawai`i’s largest organization dedicated solely to girls, Girl Scouts provides opportunities for girls to discover their personal best and prepare for a positive future, connect with others in an increasingly diverse world, and take action to solve problems and improve their communities. With 4,000 members on all major islands, the Girl Scout Council of Hawaii’s mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. auwagency.jpg
