Provides assistance to meet the immediate emergency needs of victims following disasters such as home fires, tsunamis, floods, hurricanes, and other tragic events. Assistance may include food, temporary shelter, clothing, and crisis counseling. Conducts disaster education and preparedness presetations and offers materials for schools, businesses and families. Provides emergency communication services for the U.S. Armed Forces and their families stationed worldwide. Provides local and international tracing services to reunite families separated by war or disaster. Offers education and training in health and safety including: emergency lifesaving courses in first aid, CPR, water safety, and life guarding. Teaches other courses for all ages including sports safety training, workplace injury control training, and babysitting courses. Provides nurse aide training and certification. Services are provided on a statewide service delivery system. Emergency services are operational 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
