Impact Councils
Impact Councils have been developed to manage each one of Aloha United Way's five issue areas - Crime and Drug Use, Early Childhood Development, Emergency & Crisis Services, Financial Stability & Independence and Homelessness. An Impact Council recommends funding decisions for their issue area to Aloha United Way's Community Building Committee and our Board of Directors.
Consisting of community volunteers from all sectors, the Impact Councils meet throughout the year and are responsible for:
-
Assessing the community's needs in its issue area
-
Selecting goals to be achieved
-
Reviewing funding availability
-
Analyzing program outcomes
-
Weighing benefits and costs
-
Selecting which nonprofit agencies best meet the needs for its issue area
-
Reviewing the performance of the selected agencies and making recommendations on multi-year funding renewals
