Improving Lives
President’s Message
Improving lives and building a stronger community. At Aloha United Way, we extend our most sincere gratitude to you and thousands of Oahu individuals and businesses who have donated their time and money to Aloha United Way this past year.
Thanks to you and many others, we have been able to build public awareness of issues affecting us all and to help agencies do what they do best—serve as direct lines of support to those in need. We’ve been able to direct people to the services they need through our information and referral service, 2-1-1.
And we have helped connect thousands of volunteers to opportunities and received hundreds of thousands of dollars of “Gifts in Kind” to agencies through Volunteer Hawaii. In addition to supporting a safety net of services, we’ve listened to the community and identified four key issues that are important to them--early childhood development, family and individual self sufficiency, homelessness and crime and drug use—and we’ve begun to build partnerships with other agencies to drive our efforts to permanently improve our community in these issue areas. It is through your continued support and valued input that we are able to continue to focus our efforts on improving lives and helping others.
This year, with your help we’ll strive to do even better. As such, I humbly seek your support in continuing to sustain Aloha United Way to serve as a powerful force for change in our community. Please peruse our website and learn more about our four key issues and how we invest your donation to change lives.
When we all work together, we can truly make a difference. Thank you for caring. And thank you for continuing to help to address what matters.
Sincerely, Susan Au Doyle President and Chief Professional Officer
